Da Kitchen calls itself "the home of da world's biggest plate lunch." The food is plenty and delicious. It's not just a slogan for the local high school cheerleaders. It's a welcome to the world's dining connoisseurs.
Featuring local and Hawaiian style dishes, Da Kitchen prepares its meals fresh. The locals all have their favorite meals prepared by their favorite local restaurant, which happens to be Da Kitchen for a majority of them. If you're looking for a diverse menu of ethnic meals then Da Kitchen is for you. Stop by and try the Lau Lau, Chicken Long Rice, Kalua Pork, and Lomi Salmon. Then, of course, you might even try the house specialty, called "Da Hawaiian Plate."
Da Kitchen is an award-winning restaurant with kudos from such local food experts as the Maui No Ka Oi Magazine, which sponsors the Aipono Awards. Da Kitchen is the proud winner of the "Best Plate Lunch" award and the "Best Kept Secret" award. Excellence and quality speak for themselves.
In addition to dine in and take out, the restaurant also offers catering services. From birthdays to luaus, graduations, Christmas parties, baby showers, and just plain old-fashioned big bashes, Da Kitchen can prepare your meal and serve to you and your guests on location. They ask for a 24-48 hour notice and will sometimes make an exception so don't be afraid to ask.
With two locations in Maui, there's no excuse for not stopping by Da Kitchen. And if you find yourself in Mountain View, California, there's a third storefront serving Hawaiian style cooking. The other two restaurants are located in Triangle Square and Rainbow Mall. Even better, the menu is the same wherever you go and all of it is good.
Pupu's (appetizers), salads, and sandwiches, plus plate lunches du jour are just a few of the delicious offerings Da Kitchen has on its menu. From Shrimp Shumai to Mahi Cakes, Da Kitchen appetizers will whet your palate and entice you to want more. The Chinese Chicken Salad to follow is absolutely scrumptious. All of the salads - even the garden salad - are made with Romaine lettuce so you get quality with every bite. Sandwiches are served on a toasted onion bun with lettuce, tomato, the incongruous onion, and a scoop of potato mac salad. Plus, with a host of burgers to choose from, and fabulous side orders, Da Kitchen's marvelous menu is one of the best on the entire island of Maui.
But don't stop there. Go on and try one of the dinner plates. Katsu Cutlet, Loco Moco, a delicious grilled burger topped with two eggs and sautèed extras, Teriyaki beef and chicken, and the Mahi Mahi fish tempura are just a few of the specialties of Da Kitchen. Try one. You most assuredly will not be disappointed.
Then there are the noodles. Oodles and oodles of noodles. Da Saimin, Honolulu style fried noodles, and the fat guy's chow. Oww! This place really knows how to have fun. You don't need a luau but if you're having one, have it at Da Kitchen.
